#1.Petmate Precision Chicken Bedding

When it comes to the best chicken coop bedding, we have to give it up to the Petmate Precision brand. These pads are thick enough for lots of support while being soft enough for lots of comfort. They are also incredibly easy to clean as all you really need to do is pull it out and give it a good shake. Durability is also very high as one sheet can last you several months.

We like that this bedding is made from 100% biodegradable materials, which makes it viable for sustainable farming. Also, the wood shavings can be moved around by your chicken, allowing a custom fit. Furthermore, we think one of the standout features is that it has a very nicely made cushioned surface that also does a great job of protecting eggs from breakage.

#2.MagJo Pet Chicken Coop Bedding

Next, we have the MagJo Pet Chicken Coop Bedding, which in our opinion is the best chicken coop bedding if you want something that is clean, healthy for your chickens, and easy to work with. This nesting lining is made of high-quality USA-grown aspen wood shavings, which is a high-quality material for chicken coops. This means that it won’t break easily and will last a long time.

Each nesting lining is a 13 by 13-inch square that comes with craft paper at the bottom. This ensures that the shavings stay together and it makes cleaning the coop very easy. All you need is a good shake. Overall, we really like the aspen wood shavings and think that it is a very nice and fluffy material that is both thick and sturdy. Your chickens will love it.

#3.Fresh Flakes Pine Shavings Chicken Bedding

Another one of our top picks when it comes to the best chicken coop bedding is the Fresh Flakes Pine Shavings Chicken Bedding. These are all-natural, low dust, and ultra-absorbant pine shavings. It is good to know that these pine shavings are pretty eco-friendly with them being harvested from renewable forestry resources. They are also heat-dried to prevent e coli, mold, and other bacteria and germs.

We also like the fact that they are heat-dried multiple times to remove dust. One of its standout features in our opinion is that we think it has a pretty nice scent and much better than other brands. Overall, they are pretty nice shavings and you can mix them in with straw to get a nice coop bedding setup going on. Our only complaint is that there is just not enough of it in one pack.

#4.Brillante Nesting Pads for Chicken

We think that the Brillante Besting Pads is a wonderful product that does a great job in absorbing moisture as well as odor and makes sure that clean up in your chicken coop is easy and seamless. This stuff is made in the USA from sustainably sourced Aspen wood and comes in a size of 13 by 13 inches with a thickness of about 3/4 of an inch.

They do a great job of providing a safe, clean, and comfortable place for your chickens to sit and they provide very nice protection for your eggs. We find these pads easier to deal with than wood shavings. All in all, we think that these nesting pads do a great job in preventing eggs from being laid on the wooden floors of nesting boxes, which put them in danger.

#5.Standlee Hay Company Chopped Straw Bedding

Lastly, the Standlee Hay Company Chopped Straw Bedding is one of our favorites when it comes to bedding for chicken coops. The bag itself weighs about 25 pounds and is certified noxious weed free. We really like the fact that this straw comes very dry and without any sort of dirt or extra moisture. It looks like it’s proceeded already and is clear for laying out for bedding.

It is packed into the box pretty tightly, but when you do lay it out, you can cover a lot of area with it, so use it freely. We also like the fact that there’s a subtly pleasant smell to the grass. But in the end, it is what it is, which is just grass, so do what you want with it. We think the chickens will love it and you will have more than plenty to go around.
