Best Well Pressure Tank

#1.Amtrol Well-X-Trol Water System Pressure Tank

The Amtrol Well-X-Trol is the best well pressure tank for those who want the industry standard. This unit comes charged at 38 PSI and is definitely excellent quality and proudly made in the USA. For added strength and reliability, the unit has a butyl diaphragm with a 100% corrosion-resistant polypropylene liner. Both are secured by a positive hoop ring seal.

We like that there is a stainless steel air valve that is welded vs threaded, which does a good job of preventing loss of air pressure. We also like the quality of custom mill steel, which increases strength. We are pretty confident that if you ask any professional technician on the market, they will recommend Amtrol Well-X-Trol has one of the best well-pressure tanks in the industry.

#2.WaterWorker HT-20B Pressure Well Tank

For those who want a decent alternative to the Amtrol Well-X-Trol, the WaterWorker HT-20B is a great choice. This pressure well tank is pre-charged to 25 PSI and has a high gloss enamel finish for great protection. Also, it is good to know that this pressure well tank is designed to meet the requirements of the National Sanitation Foundation or NSF.

This unit is built solid, as the polypropylene liner for the water reservoir does not flake, chip, crack or peel. Also, it doesn’t change the taste and odor of the water. Finally, just know that the butyl diaphragm has a seamless construction. It is very flexible and doesn’t stretch and crease like bladder tanks.

#3.BurCam 600545B ML80 Diaphragm Pressure Tank

The BurCam Diaphragm Pressure Tank is another classic when it comes to the best well pressure tank. This one’s designed for water systems equipped with a jet pump or a submersible deep well pump. We like how it has a very rugged, epoxy finish. Also, it is pressure tested to 100 PSI although we only recommend taking it up to 75 PSI.

The good thing about this pressure tank is that it requires no water-air contact, no water-tank contact, and no waterlogging. This eliminates seeping and the need for air volume control. Finally, it has a replaceable bladder and is made from butyl rubber, which does a good job of increasing reliability and life span.

#4.Flotec 19-Gallon Pre-Charged Water Tank

The 19-gallon pre-charged water tank by Flotec is one of the best in the industry. It has a maximum pressure rating of 100 PSI and is classified to ANSI/NSF standard 61. Please keep in mind that you have to purchase the pump mount bracket separately, which could be a minor inconvenience to some people.

Overall, we would say that this well-pressure tank is very good value for the money. It has excellent build quality and is proudly made in the USA. Also, we like that the tank works well even when it gets rained on a lot. Unfortunately, the connection is plastic, which is only a minor setback.

#5.Red Lion Precharged Diaphragm Well Tank

We really like the Red Lion Diaphragm Well Tank as it has a durable metal exterior with an epoxy primer coat and urethane finish. This gives it a cool classic look as well as sound operation. In terms of operation, this tank comes precharged at 28 PSI. Also, it is most operationally efficient between 30 and 50 PSI.

Also, we like how the butyl, double diaphragm inside the tank is FDA-approved, which also does a great job of keeping air separate from the water. Finally, there is a clench ring at the base of the diaphragm which helps reduce condensation. Just note that 100 PSI is the max working pressure rating.
