Best Giclee Printer

#1.Epson SureColor P800 Giclee Printer

For those who want the best giclee printer, we highly recommend you try out the Epson SureColor P800. This is one of the holy grails of giclee printers as it gets you amazing quality prints through its 8 color hd inks and 3 black inks. It all just works seamlessly on this device and it is capable of most tasks the average person needs. The price and durability are also very reasonable given the quality. Of course, you can always go better, but the tradeoff between price and performance, as you go better, isn’t really there.

#1.Epson SureColor P800 Giclee Printer

When it comes to the best giclee printer, the Epson SureColor is the way to go. This giclee printer offers the best combination of performance, price, and durability in our opinion. While there are certainly much more expensive giclee printers out there, we just don’t think the upgrade is worth it from a financial standpoint. It can handle prints up to 17″ wide.

It features 8 Color Ultrachrome HD Pigment Inks and 3 levels of black and white for a lush professional-quality color for archival durability. You won’t be disappointed, to say the least. Overall this is a great printer that does everything most people would ever need with some of the highest quality. It comes fully loaded with the latest technologies as well.

#2.Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000

Next up, we have the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000, which is the best giclee printer if you have a wild budget and are willing to pay top dollar. This printer is way more expensive than the SureColor P800. But is it truly significantly better in terms of performance? Probably not, but there is definitely a noticeable difference in image quality. It gives you 44″ wide 12-color pro photographic printing.

And if this Giclee printer isn’t good enough for you, then we are not really sure what to recommend. It also has effortless media loading and high-speed image processing built in. If you really just want a number, we would say the quality upgrade is at least 50% over the SureColor P800. So decide for yourself whether or not it is worth it.

#3.Epson Stylus Pro 3880

Another great option when it comes to the best giclee printer is the Epson Stylus Pro 3880. It is made quite similar to the SureColor P800 and features 17-inch wide prints. We really like the AccuPhoto HD2 technology, which really makes prints pop out in color and provides smoother color transitions and with way better highlights than most other printers.

So how does it compare to the SureColor P800? We think it has a similar balance of output quality, speed, paper handling, and overall features. We also really like the technology in this printer as it automatically detects most media rolls and whether or not any nozzle or head needs cleaning.

#4.Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000

The Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 is certainly the smaller cousin of the PRO-4000 we reviewed above. But don’t let the big guy steal its thunder – this printer has its own perks. We think this printer splits the difference between being an archival printer and a really high-end desktop printer. It comes with the same 11-color Chroma Optimiser ink system found in all imagePROGRAF printers.

In terms of specs, this printer can print up to a maximum size of 17” x 22” and has nice anti-clogging technology. And with its air-feeding system, you guarantee that ink placement will be perfect. Furthermore, we just want to point out that it is also a nice workhorse desktop printer as it is able to print with high quality at very high speeds.

#5.Canon imagePROGRAF iPF770

Lastly, we have the Canon imagePROGRAF iPF770, which is a nice alternative to the Canon imagePROGRAF PRO-4000 reviewed above. Even at the lowest settings, this printer has amazing quality and works amazing for giclee printing. We would say it easily prints photographic quality that rivals the PRO-4000.

And now onto some of the bad stuff. If you are looking for speed, this is definitely not the printer for you. You are probably better off with the imagePROGRAF PRO-1000 However, if quality and amazing professional archival quality prints are what you are after, this is definitely the one. We are torn between this and the PRO-4000 for quality giclee prints.
