#1.Hammermill Paper, Copy Paper

When it comes to the best copy paper, the only real answer is the Hammermill Paper brand. This is clearly the most popular brand out there and is stocked pretty much everywhere. We think the secret is that it is just a tad bit better than everyone else in terms of quality. And it manages to maintain a nice value proposition as well so it doesn’t scare away value-minded people.

This copy paper has a 92 brightness, it absolutely 99.99% of the time does not jam unless you purposefully or accidentally place it in a very off position. Even at high speeds, there is no jamming. And finally, just know that this is an acid-free paper that is very hard to yellow and allows it to have a long shelf life. Also, the color just tends to pop out more on this paper.

#2.AmazonBasics Multipurpose Copy Paper

Next up, we have the AmazonBasics Multipurpose Copy Paper, which is the best copy paper for those who want all of the features of the Hammermill but just want to pay less. Since copy paper is a pretty generic commoditized item, Amazon has basically decided to jump in with its own branding. And they can sell it for cheaper because they are Amazon.

To be honest, the quality of this copy paper is quite good, and sure it has all of the nice features that the Hammermill has. However, it just doesn’t quite have that name brand and charm. So you have to ask yourself, will you pay a few bucks more for Hammermill, or are you a person who just needs generic copy paper? If the latter is the answer, Amazon is for you.

#3.Office Depot White Copy Paper

Well, since we are on the most boring topic of copy papers, we might as well just list out another generic copy paper product that could work. The Office Depot White Copy Paper should fit this bill. This paper pretty much does what it says it will do. It is great for everyday copying and printing. And it has 92 brightness for pretty vivid text and images and colors that pop out.

No, it is not on the same level as the Hammermill, but that’s only if you really really care about the fine details. But if you are actually reading this trying to pick out copy paper, then you’re quite picky. Just know that the Office Depot paper is a workhorse paper. It is not designed for any spectacular printing. But for most people, a workhorse copy paper is all they are looking for.

#4.HP Printer Paper, Copy, and Print

The HP Printer Paper, Copy, and Print is yet another copy paper you can get if you are in the market for some quality copy paper for cheap. It features Colorlok Technology, which basically makes colors show up around 30% brighter and blacks show up to 60% bolder, giving your pictures this extra pop much like the Hammermill mentioned above.

If you are just doing black-and-white copying, it won’t make that much of a difference. The HP copy paper is good enough for all intents and purposes in terms of quality. It also does a pretty good job of not jamming, which is pretty crucial for some people. However, there are a few reports of this stuff yellowing over time so it doesn’t have a long shelf life.

#5.Boise X-9 Multi-Use Copy Paper

Finally, we have the Boise X-9 Multi-Use Copy Paper, which is the best copy paper for those who aren’t too fussed about brand names and just want quality paper. We find this paper pretty much on par with many of the other brands that we mentioned, except it is just worse at marketing itself. This also means that it is a bit cheaper than the others.

The Boise X-9 has to compete on something, and for us, the main attraction point is price and economies of scale. If you do buy in bulk, you can save up a lot of money. Also, you can keep this copy paper around for a very long time without worrying about it going yellow on you.
