#1.Tulip Super Big 12 Colors Kit
When it comes to the best die for tie die, we highly recommend the Tulip Tie Die Kits. In particular, we think the Super Big 12 Kit hits the sweet spot between price and variety. With this kit, you can probably get about 10 shirts in. It comes with everything you need to get started but doesn’t include the shirts.
The 12 colors are all very solid. They come in easy-to-squeeze bottles and all you need to do is to add water and mix. Finally, we just really like the wide range of colors offered. You get a healthy selection of light colors as well as nice dark colors in this kit.
#2.Jacquard Tie Dye Kit
If you are looking for the best die-for tie-dye, we highly recommend the Jacquard Tie Dye Kit. This kit is enough for creating about 15 adult t-shirts. In terms of the dies offered in this kit, you have a 3 color Procion MX dye set, which is basically the industry standard for tie-dye shirts.
The three colors include red, blue, and yellow, which are basically all the necessary colors you need to create all the possible colors in the world. You can obviously mix these colors to create different shades and we urge you to consult the internet in determining the right ratios.
#3.SEI Tumble Dye Classic Kit
The SEI Tumble Dye Classic Kit is the best dye for tie dye if you are looking for ready-to-use, permanent, and easy-to-clean-up die colors. There is no dunking, soaking, or washing necessary. We like how each color comes in a ready-to-use spray applicator. So all you need to do is to spray the desired color on a t-shirt and let it dry in the dryer.
These colors do a good job of covering all colors of the rainbow. They are pretty neutral and standard colors. SEI Tumble also sells a neon set of colors and a pastel set if you are interested. Finally, the only letdown is that you can’t really get custom colors by mixing them since they are already pre-made and ready to use.
#4.Phoenix Vital Life Tie Die Kit
If you are on a tight budget, the Phoenix Vital Life may be one of the more economical tie dye kits for you. This tie-dye kit is good enough for around six adult shirts. We like how this tie-dye kit only comes with the bare essentials. It comes with rubber bands, latex gloves, and three main colors.
The three colors are turquoise, yellow, and fuchsia, so basically blue, red, and yellow. You can certainly mix these colors to produce pretty much any color you want. All in all, these color dies are great in not bleeding and work very well with cotton fabric. Also, they are fade-resistant and wash resistant.
#5.Jacquard Cold Water Dyes, Set of 8
Finally, if you like Jacquard and just can’t be bothered with the kit and just want the dies, this is a great set to get. In terms of the best die for tie dye, you can’t get better than Procion MX dye, which is used in most professionally done tie-dye shirts.
Each bottle can dye up to 10 shirts and this set comes with 8 different colors, including the traditional red, blue, and yellow colors. Finally, we just want to say that these colors once settled do not fade at all and don’t bleed through your shirt.
