#1.Waterman 1.7 oz Ink Bottle Red Ink
When it comes to the best red fountain pen ink, we highly recommend you try out the Waterman Bottle Red Ink. It may not be the most famous brand or the highest quality, but we think it has good value. This ink strikes the right balance between quality, performance, and price. It is definitely quality and has an intense red that stays on strong and has some deep pigmentation. You are not getting thin ink here.
Next, in terms of performance, the Waterman definitely goes on really smoothly and is actually pretty quick to dry as well. Basically writing is pretty buttery smooth, although its not “the best” here. Sure there are inks that are better like Montblanc, but you end up paying a lot of money for them. If you prefer something a bit more affordable, go with the Waterman.

#2.Pelikan Red Bottled Ink For Fountain Pens
Next, we have the Pelikan Red Bottled Ink For Fountain Pens, which is the best red fountain pen ink for those who want a clear line definition with very even flow. It is also a German brand and made in Germany. And we all know how meticulous Germans are in their products. This ink is no exception and is definitely quality as it goes on more smoothly than the Waterman and most of the brands we tried out.
The durability is ok at best though and we have to say that we can definitely find more durable fountain pen inks out there. Just keep in mind that this stuff is not waterproof. All in all, this is a moderately wet ink with a medium dry time. We think that it is cheap enough to be a nice daily ink if you really like to write or draw in red.

#3.Sheaffer Skrip Red Fountain Pen Ink
Another great choice when it comes to the best red fountain pen ink is the Sheaffer Skrip Red Fountain Pen Ink. It works with all types of fountain pens from vintage to modern. We really like it because there is no bleeding or fading, which we cannot really say the same for other brands we have tried. Also, it is not waterproof, which could be a concern for some people.
We’ve tried a bunch of red inks and like to think that we know a thing or two about this stuff. Luckily, Amazon has a nice return policy so we can try out things for you. In general, we just really like the color and think that it really pops out. It is bright red with little sheen and very little shading. Basically it is a nice workhorse red.

#4.Cross Red Bottled Fountain Pen Ink
The Cross Red Bottled Fountain Pen Ink is the one of our favorites when it comes to red fountain pen inks because it is a rather unknown brand with a lot of potential. We really like the color as we think it is a nice shade of red that we can tolerate and one that looks like professional. You will know when you see it in person, but trust us, this red works.
The quality is also really amazing and the durability to top notch. We think that this ink lasts longer than most others we have tried and stays on your paper or other medium. Also, it is fairly waterproof and doesn’t fade like the others over time. It is truly the one to get if you are going for that extra bit of durability.

#5.Pilot Iroshizuku Red Fountain Pen Ink
Lastly, we have the Pilot Iroshizuku Red Ink, which is a brand that should really speak for itself. Pilot is a globally recognized brand that everyone should know by now. And with such a large brand, we can’t help but trust its quality and general quality reliable and reliability. Let’s just say we don’t think that they are skimping on any materials to save costs.
The ink itself is solid and has a lot of pigmentation, which is the sign of great ink. It is a nice red color although you should probably be the judge on that one for yourself. More importantly, it goes on really smoothly and makes straight lines without having it bleed through the paper or medium. Also, it is quick drying so you should act quick.
