This is a 3-burner forge with open ends for bar stock. We really like this gas forge because it performs the best. It gives you uniformly distributed heat at 2350 Fahrenheit and has some crazy high-efficiency burners.
This burner gas forge also features a push-button ignition and a really quick recovery, meaning that it heats and reheats metals very quickly. Also, just know that it is fitted for propane.
However, you can certainly tweek it a bit to work with natural gas as well if you like. Finally, it is pretty lightweight and surprisingly transportable.

This is the average person’s workhorse gas forge as it has a 2300 Fahrenheit capacity and is incredibly reliable with an uniform heat. It includes 3 fire bricks with a 2700F capacity.
Although it is definitely heavier than most forges in its class, it also means that it is more heavy-duty and will burn more efficiently. The trade-off is of course that it is harder to transport. Although it is not that annoying to carry it around given that it has two sturdy built-in handles to easily get leverage and carry it around alone.

Lastly, we have the Atlas Mini Forge Stainless Knifemaker Forge, which as the name implies is a top knifemaking forge, but can also be used for all sorts of other metal items.
We like this forge because it is designed and built by knifemakers, and we just assume they know a bit about what they are doing. It uses an insulating firebrick which is softer and very efficient.
Also, this firebrick is incredibly safe for your lungs, which is always a plus. The only downside is that the bricks are quite fragile and crack easily under pressure or extreme heat conditions.
Overall, we think that this is a well-designed forge that is great for beginners all the way to pros. It is definitely something to seriously consider if you concentrate on making knives.
