Best Jazz Guitar Strings

#1.Thomastik-Infeld GB112 Jazz Guitar Strings

When it comes to the best jazz guitar strings, we really like the Thomastik-Infield GB112 Jazz Guitar Strings. These are a powerful yet mellow-toned set of strings for semi-acoustic and acoustic jazz guitars. We really like the fact that the strings are nickel flat wound for the perfect mellow tone and feel. And although you are definitely paying a premium for these, they will last longer than other strings.

The standout feature of the Thomastik-Infeld GB112 is hands down the premium feel and quality. They will likely outlast any other string out there on the market and don’t break unless you are using brute force. Also, just a note, because they are medium light, they don’t really bend unless you want to play a bend. In other words, notation is pretty good on these strings.

#2.D’Addario Guitar Jazz Strings

Another great option when it comes to the best jazz guitar strings is the D’Addario Guitar Jazz Strings. These guitar strings are the perfect balance between a smooth feel and mellow, fat, and warm tones. We really like these strings because they give you a full round low end without losing punch. This makes them the perfect set of strings for traditional jazz in our opinion.

Perhaps our favorite feature and the thing that separates these strings from the rest of the pack is the fact that they bend extremely easily. Vibrato is just effortless with these strings as well. The overall durability is just great and it is made with some advanced computer winding technology that makes them last longer. They are not as good as the Thomastik-Infeld GB112 in terms of durability.

#3.D’Angelico Electrozinc Jazz Guitar Strings

In our opinion, the D’Angelico Electrozinc Jazz Guitar Strings is the best jazz guitar strings for those who want the perfect combination of lovely rich tone with a bit more texture to the strings. Overall, we would say the build quality of these strings is pretty top-notch. These mechanized-steel strings are an industry trademark and have been around since the company’s inception.

We really like the fact that it uses EXP technology, which coats every string to give it the classic D’Angelico tone longer. When settled in, you get a lovely rich tone that is a trademark of D’Angelico. These jazz guitar strings are for you if you are going for that bright for a not-too-bright sound. Just one thing to keep in mind is that they can be quite rough on your fingers since they have more texture.

#4.Godin Electric Jazz Guitar Strings

The next item on our list of the best jazz guitar strings is the Godin Electric branded ones. These are E-12 Jazz nickel regular light strings assembled in Canada. Godin has always been a bit of a boutique name in the industry, but we think that they definitely make some quality strings. You will find that these strings have a lot of attention to detail vs other brands.

In general, we think that these strings feel and play out pretty great. Also, you can easily move them around and get to the stretch chords effortlessly. We think that they have an amazing tone that is perfect for jazzy-type guitars. Also, the price is very reasonable for the quality that you are getting here.

Best Jazz Guitar Strings

#5. Galli Strings Jazz Silver Plated

Lastly, we have the Galli brand jazz guitar strings which are made for the acoustic guitar and silver plated on silk and steel. These strings are great for “manouche” guitars. It is nice to know that these strings are made in Italy and are made from the finest quality materials. Overall, the tone is very fresh and will sound somewhere between bronze and Argentine strings.

In terms of feel, these Galli Strings will feel like nylon strings and will have slightly softer tension. Also, they have a bit less projection than traditional strings and are nicely balanced across the tonal range. In terms of durability, we have absolutely no complaints and will last as long as most of the other brands we recommended above.
