We think the standout feature of this tape is definitely its ability to weather all storms. It is designed for outside use although it certainly can be used inside as well.

So the 3M tape does a great job in mounting to tough surfaces like brick and stucco and does a great job holding on. The standout feature is that it has a great balance of adhesive ability and protection. In other words, it sticks on great, has great holding power, and it holds up in bad weather.

We have found no other competitors that get this perfect balance of features. Useful tape with great holding power will lack the ability for being weatherproof and vice versa. #4. 3M Scotch 5952 VHB Double-Sided Tape

The 3M Scotch VHB Double Sided Tape is pretty powerful and can be used for painted surfaces as well as general-purpose mounting or adhesion around the house or outside. This is a black, double-coated VHB adhesive tape with an acrylic foam core and it comes on a red film release liner. They are like tape fasteners but even better.

In terms of stats, we have 320 ounces per inch of adhesion to steel, 90 pounds per inch of tensile strength, and a 50 mils thickness including carrier, adhesive, and liner. Overall, this is an excellent double-sided VHB tape that is probably the best one of its class in terms of most of the stats.

We really like this particular tape when it comes to projects where you need a clear and transparent finish that works yellow or discolor over time.

Additionally, it is actually quite weatherproof and can definitely take a beating from rain, snow, fog, and wind. Also, it bonds to pretty much any surface, smooth or uneven. Overall, if you want to sacrifice a bit of holding power for a clear double-sided tape that won’t fade, this is the one for you.
