#1. FastenMaster Exterior Wood Screws
When it comes to the best deck screws, we gotta hand them to the FastenMaster brand. They definitely know what they are doing and we think their screws hold up very well to the elements. So we think it is nice to know that these screws are fully tested in wood such as pressure-treated ACQ, redwood, and cedar. It is also very easy to use in any wood decking job.
We really like the versatile head style, which can be installed with the included PoziSquare Drive. You can also use a #2 square or a Philips driver bit. Whatever you use, just know that it is extremely easy to penetrate the wood and not too hard to get secure and really tight. The etchings on the screw don’t get messed up as well if you use force.

#2. Hillman Fasteners Tan Deck Screw
Next, we have the Hillman Fasteners which are the best deck screws for those who want something that is really good and resistant to corrosion and rust. We definitely think that these deck screws are a step above the competition in terms of quality and ease of use. While it is a bit worse quality than the FastenMaster, we think it is easier to install.
You can generally install them with a T25 Torx head or a cordless impact and they go in very smoothly. They grab really quickly and hold well and screw in tight. We also find that the heads tend to snap off a lot harder than competitive brands, so feel free to use some force on these and test out their true durability.

#3. Bolt Dropper Stainless Deck Screws
No list of the best deck screws would be complete without including the Bolt Dropper Stainless Deck Screws. These screws are made of high-quality 305 stainless steel and are made to last. In terms of durability, we would put them on par with the FastenMaster and maybe even better. At least in terms of corrosion resistance, we think the bolt dropper is pretty much perfect.
Additionally, we really like the fact that the heads are extra durable and definitely don’t strip easily. This also means that this screw is great for all kinds of weather. So don’t worry if you are outdoors in scolding hot or freezing temperatures or even by the sea. These screws will hold up. And the self-tapping points are a nice bonus to have, so there’s no need to pre-drill.

#4. Grip-Rite Prime Guard Stainless Deck Screws
The Grip Rite Prime Guard Stainless Deck Screws are a great way to secure a deck without being brittle and also maintain its flexibility. We really like the self-tap feature, which allows you to easily drive into hardwood without splitting. Although it is made in China, we think that they are of pretty good quality.
One of the tests we like to do is to see how much they can tighten without breaking. This screw definitely passed our sniff test and beat out most of the deck screws on the market. Finally, we really like the quality control of the set. On most sets we get, there are always a few screws with stripped heads, bent, or broken. We found no errors with this brand.

#5.WoodPro All-Purpose Wood Screws
The last product on our top 5 list is the WoodPro All Purpose Wood Screws. As the name implies, these are truly all-purpose and work great on wood decks. They have a type 17 point type that is sharp enough so that you don’t get to pre-drill. As for the head type, use a non-slip star or Torx head.
Perhaps its standout feature is the coating, which is a PGG Industries E Coat. This coating is much thinner than that of other brands while still maintaining over 1,000 hours of salt spray protection. Furthermore, we find the coating to be extremely durable in all types of weather and definitely does not chip or rub off easily.
