One of the negatives with this stuff is the durability. So basically, we find that although the smell is pretty strong with a good range, it won’t last that long so you end up having to use more of it within a short period. Next, we have the Liquid Mayhem Crayfish Bait, which is the best crayfish bait if you want something with a really good range to attract crayfish. This stuff contains real bait in a super concentrated form. According to the company, this bait contains natural fishbait enzymes that are combined with amino acids to create a deadly formula to attract all kinds of shellfish like crayfish.
The interesting thing is that it is actually designed for attracting fish, but we actually found it really useful for bringing in crayfish as well. And of course, the range on this is phenomenal. What we mean by range is that it can find and bring more crayfish in a wider area than most of the other brands out there. And the durability underwater is pretty decent as well.

When it comes to the best crayfish bait, we think that the Gulp Alive is definitely one of the better options out there. We really like it because it brings in the most variety of species out of all the brands. So this is really a multi-purpose attractant that is designed to appeal to the largest collection of fish and underwater creatures. It brings in fish, lobster, shrimp, crabs, and even crawfish with ease.
We really like it because some crawfish are pretty stubborn and have built up a bit of immunity to traditional crawfish-only bait. The Gulp Alive is a bit of a curveball in our opinion. The Berkley Powerbait Attractant is definitely a great bait when it comes to attracting fish, but how does it hold up when trying to reel in crayfish? Well, the answer is surprisingly well actually. We want to try this stuff because one day we were frustrated that traditional crayfish bait brands just weren’t working as effectively anymore. After using Berkley, we immediately fell in love.
We are not saying it is for everybody or that it works effectively every time. But for certain species of crayfish and in certain conditions, this stuff works miracles. We like the durability of this stuff as well. So we generally find that the scent of the Berkley Powerbait lasts much longer than competitive products, so essentially you get more value out of this.

#5. Pautzke Bait Scents Crawfish Attractant
Lastly, we have the Pautzke Bait Scents, which is a find product formulated for attracting crab and shrimp. Although it is designed for these, it actually works very well when it comes to crayfish.
We really like the Pautzke because its range is pretty good actually, so it draws in crayfish in a wider area than other crayfish baits. We think the range is comparable to the Liquid Mayhem.
Additionally, we also really like the fact that the smell of this thing is pretty bearable compared to some other brands. In other words, we don’t feel like puking in the morning when we smell the Pautzke. Don’t get us wrong, it certainly smells pretty darn bad, but it is definitely not nearly as bad as some brands that just make you want to barf.
