#1.Giro Aerohead MIPS Aero Helmet
For those who are interested in the best aero helmet, the Giro Aerohead MIPS Aero Helmet is the way to go. This aero helmet offers athletes a great combination of aerodynamics and cooling power. First and foremost, it is constructed with a lightweight polycarbonate shell that is also shaped in a way to minimize drag and to maximize airflow. The helmet also gives you plenty of ventilation.
There is no other way to describe the ventilation system other than it works and works quite well at keeping you nice and cool. And it seems to absorb sweat quite well and doesn’t get stinky. And finally, this aero helmet features a nice wraparound eye shield that gives you a nice field of view with good peripheral vision. It is also easy to remove and store.

#2.SLS3 Time Trial Aero Helmet
Next up, we have the SLS3 Time Trial, which is the best aero helmet for those who can’t yet afford the Giro mentioned above and still want something respectable that won’t break down. The SLS3 is surprisingly good at keeping you nice and cool and ensures that there is maximum airflow. It has 8 well-placed vents to do this 4 up front and 4 in the back.
Additionally, the helmet weighs in at around 279 grams which is quite light compared to other brands. It fits right but is not the most comfortable that we have tried on. In terms of wind resistance and aerodynamics, the SLS3 could definitely use a bit of improvement. It is pretty good but nowhere near the same level as the Giro mentioned above.

#3.Bell Z20 Aero MIPS Helmet
The Bell Z20 Aero MIPS Helmet is another great product that is the best aero helmet for those who want a premium multi-directional impact protection system helmet that rivals the Giro. While it is unfortunate that the Giro steals the spotlight in terms of popularity, we think that the Bell Z20 is just as good of a product. One of our favorite features is the well-made liner and padding.
This padding is made of quick-drying materials and woven with real silver fabrics such that it will inhibit the growth of odor-causing bacteria and fungi. There’s also this nice sweat guide pad that helps pull away moisture from the brow pad and away from your eyes or any eyewear you have on.

#4.Rock Bros Aero Road Bike Helmet
The Rock Bros Aero Road Bike Helmet is another classic that deserves a mention. It is our runner-up for the cheap option when it comes to aero helmets that are functional. The obvious competitor to the Rock Bros is the SLS3 mentioned above as both compete in the budget-friendly class. The Rock Bros is a bit different in that we find it more aerodynamic and has smaller air resistance.
The trade-off to having smaller air resistance is that it is a bit less comfortable than the SLS3 and we find it just doesn’t ventilate as well as the SLS3. While both aero helmets seem decently well made with acceptable quality, we have to give a slight advantage to the SLS3 here. But if air resistance is your primary concern, the Rock Bros is the way to go.

#5. LAZER Vento KinetiCore Road Cycling Helmet
Lastly, we have the LAZER Vento KinetiCore Road Cycling Helmet, which offers a good balance between comfort, fit, durability, ventilation, and air resistance. In other words, it is the jack of all trades. First and foremost, it weighs in at 290 grams, which is very light. It also has a century-advanced ventilation system, which provides a decent amount of ventilation.
The helmet is sturdy enough and passes many certified crash tests at various angles. It is also pretty air-resistant but nothing compared to the Giro mentioned above. Overall, there is nothing spectacular about this aero helmet and it just doesn’t need to be. It is nice and reliable and that is important for many people.
