When it comes to the best glue for balsa wood, we highly recommend that you try out the Midwest Gloves Basswood Glue. This glue is specifically made for balsa wood and is non-toxic. We generally find this glue to have a pretty thin formula and is very quick to set. It dries very clearly and is quite flexible. Overall, we think the glue works very well on balsa and basswood.
It also flows quite easily without getting stuck in the opening. We know with a lot of other glues, the glue tends to harden around the nozzle, making it a bit annoying to peel off. With the Midwest Gloves Basswood Glue, you won’t experience any of this. Also, you should note that it has pretty good durability over most other brands.

#2.Humbrol Balsa Cement Adhesives
If you are looking for the best glue for balsa wood, the Humbrol Balsa Cement Adhesive is the way to go. This glue/cement is a transparent cement that surface dries in 10 to 20 minutes. If you want it to fully dry, it will take about one hour. We find that the holding power is pretty good and it works quite well with balsa wood models.
The overall quality is pretty good in general and we think that it has a pretty good performance-to-price ratio. The cement is in a nice squeeze tube bottle and it is easy to apply. There’s not much else we can really say about it other than it works well as advertised and definitely serves its purpose quite nicely.

#3.Gorilla Balsa Wood Glue
Even though the Gorilla Balsa Wood Glue is made for generic wood applications, we also find it the best glue for balsa wood if you are for tremendous holding power. This is a water-based adhesive that is incredibly easy to use. The standout feature is probably that it passes the ANSI/HPVA Type ii water resistance standards and can be used indoors and outdoors.
So basically it has the highest durability out of any of the brands that we have seen. It will last longer and holds stronger than most others. The trade-off is that it is kind of kind to get off and unfix errors since the glue is so strong. It is basically pretty close to a super glue solution.

#4.Testors Corp Balsa Wood Cement
The Testors Corp Balsa Wood Cement is a nice option for those who want to try something different than the brands mentioned above. This is nice cement for balsa wood models and basswood and works quite well in our opinion if you want a really fast-drying cement/glue. The flip side of the coin is that sometimes it may dry up too fast.
So if you can work fast or just want a really fast-drying glue, this is probably the one for you. In terms of holding power, it is pretty good but definitely not the best. And overall durability is pretty good as well as it tends to last a really long time without falling apart, according to some users we surveyed.

#5.Starbond EM-150 Balsa Wood Glue
Lastly, we have the Starbond EM-150 Balsa Wood Glue, which is a really nice Cyanoacrylate-based adhesive that comes in various different applicator tips. We really like this balsa glue because it comes with many different accessories that other glues don’t even bother giving you. We really like the two applicator caps and one clog-free stopper.
You also get 8 really precise applicator tips to get just the right amount of glue in certain small areas. The tips have a nice long neck that is flexible so you can really get into crevices. In terms of hold strength and durability, this glue is a pretty standard affair. The dry time is not too long and also not too short, which is actually what we prefer.
