We also like that this is a nice gap filing sealant that can be used on all types of materials. Also, it is a medium-strength, so the fix is not permanent. Another great option when it comes to the best marine sealant is the Dap Silicone Rubber Auto/Marine Sealant. This is kind of like the Loctite mentioned above in that they are both meant for spot repairs. This sealant is easy enough to apply and doesn’t make a mess because you can easily control the dispensed amount through the squeeze applicator. It forms a strong waterproof bond that holds up to saltwater.
Also, it has a nice flexible seal that won’t crack or shrink and when cured and it does a fairly good job of not yellowing or discoloring when exposed to sunlight for too long. Lastly, we have the Sudbury Elastomeric Marine Sealant, which is the best marine sealant for those who want something that is very flexible and breathable, but also clean. This sealant twists bends, expands, and compresses and just does a great job in sealing ports, beds, hardware, as well as stops minor leaks.
And it goes without saying that this marine-grade sealant can withstand some pretty wild temperature changes and survive through extremely hot and cold temperatures. Also, it does really well below the waterline and can even be wet sanded and painted after curing. Full curing takes about one day.
