Unfortunately, this book does not cover big stage illusions and focuses more on sleight of hand magic and magic with coins, balls, ropes, and cards.

Next, we have the Big Magic for Little Hands book, which is one of the best magic trick books for children to read and figure out for themselves. This book is geared toward those who are aged 7 and up. In this magic book, there are about 25 tricks and illusions for your children to learn how to do and to get started with magic. These are all sleight-of-hand tricks and don’t involve big illusions.
Overall, we say that this magic trick book is very well written and also well designed visually. In fact, even adults can enjoy this book and learn from some of the simple concepts taught. We also just want to explain that this book does not contain any “stupid” magic tricks. Everything inside is well thought out and considered a “smart” way to do magic.

Another great option when it comes to the best magic trick books is the Expert Card Technique Close-Up Table Magic. This book consists of over 300 sleight-of-hand tricks that are very well crafted. We really like this book because it goes into extreme detail about the exact position of the fingers and hands needed to properly execute this trick.
Additionally, there are plenty of industry secrets that are revealed and the techniques to do them are painstakingly detailed. This book is not for the faint-hearted and requires attention to detail. For anyone who is trying to get into close-up magic, this book is one of those must-haves in our opinion. It is written with the most recent techniques so rest assured there is something for everyone. Perhaps the standout feature is just how well it is written for beginners and it really walks them through not just how to do magic but why it works the way it does.
In other words, it gets you to fully understand the art of magic and why you are learning certain tricks to add to your arsenal instead of getting to your memorize tricks via brute force. So all in all, we find that the flow is very logical and it takes you from beginning to end in an easy-to-understand and easy-to-learn read.

Lastly, we have Magic: The Complete Course by Joshua Jay, which has over 500 full-color photos of around 100 easy-to-do tricks. This book is written for beginners, intermediates, and aspiring magicians. Most of the magic tricks in this book are standard close-up illusions, so unfortunately, you won’t get secrets on how to do things that David Blaine or David Copperfield does on stage.
We really like how it is written in a very entertaining way and is definitely not dry or boring to read through. It tries not to get too detailed about things and doesn’t bog you down with details. Instead, it focuses on trying to get you to learn these tricks the best and fastest way possible with the least amount of words and pictures.
