#1.Denis Wick Silver Flugelhorn Mouthpiece

If you want the best flugelhorn mouthpiece, the Denis Wick Silver Flugelhorn Mouthpiece is the way to go. This is the perfect middle ground between performance, quality, and price. It is certainly not one of those really expensive top-end mouthpieces, but it doesn’t need to be to produce a very rich and deep tone. We think it is a great bargain and is super durable.

#1.Denis Wick Silver Flugelhorn Mouthpiece

For those who are interested in the best flugelhorn mouthpiece, the Denis Wick Silver Flugelhorn is a well-balanced, high-quality option for those who don’t want to spend too much money. Denis Wick is a huge brand in this industry and definitely makes very reliable and durable mouthpieces. Just mention them in any music shop and people will have heard of the brand.

Perhaps the standout feature is that it produces a very rich and deep tone, which is kind of what you want out of a flugelhorn mouthpiece. Also, it has a shorter shank than most other brands, so keep this in mind. And lastly, we just want to state that this is a very deep mouthpiece and the rim is also quite narrow, which is just something to consider when picking this out.

#2.Bach Flugelhorn Mouthpiece

Next up, we have the Bach Flugelhorn Mouthpiece, which is the best flugelhorn mouthpiece for those who want something from Denis Wick and can’t really decide. We consider Bach a direct competitor of the Denis Wick Silver Plated Flugelhorn Mouthpiece and quite similar in quality. It is very comfortable and produces a decent rich beautiful tone.

But we must admit that it doesn’t quite produce that rich dark sound that Denis Wick is capable of producing, but it is good enough. For us, the choice is really one of preference and comfort, as maybe you just find playing with the Bach easier and more comfortable over other brands. But there’s really only one way to find out. Try them out!

#3.Yamaha Flugelhorn Mouthpiece

Another great choice when it comes to the best flugelhorn mouthpiece is the Yamaha Flugelhorn Mouthpiece. This is the standard series 11F4 mouthpiece with a 16.46mm inner rim diameter. Additionally, it has a deep cup shape and volume as well as a semi-flat rim contour. This kind of shape is really easy for beginners to learn and to hit all the right notes.

The quality is definitely right up there with Yamaha standards, but we will fully admit that you don’t really know if the mouthpiece is for you until you try it out. We think that it may just be on the larger side of things but if it is the right fit for you then it is definitely a very high-quality mouthpiece that can make deep rich tones.

#4.Denis Wick Gold Flugelhorn Mouthpiece

The Denis Wick Gold Flugelhorn Mouthpiece is a clear upgrade from the silver-plated version. It is similar to the Denis Wick 2FL and has a very deep cup. We really like it because it has a specially balanced throat, backbore, and cup for even response. Also, it has that excellent intonation in all registers and that classic British-style tone.

In our opinion and many others would agree, this is a clear upgrade from the Denis Wick Silver Plated Mouthpiece. The gold 4FL is incredibly smooth and produces an even deeper rich sound. Also, we think that it has a comfortable rim and is quite easy to play for the widest variety of players out there. The only issue is that it is a bit pricey.

#5.GEWA 5C-FL Flugelhorn Mouthpiece

Lastly, we have the Gewa 5C-FL Flugelhorn Mouthpiece. It is a bit off the beaten path and a lesser-known brand, but we think it is a nice hidden gem. It has a nice silver plated finish that is surprisingly durable and will last you for quite a bit longer than most of the other brands out there.

Another reason we really like it is that it is definitely fit for those on a budget who just need a cheap but durable practice mouthpiece for the flugelhorn. While it won’t have that deep rich sound of the above-mentioned brands, it will hold up quite well for the most part for practice.
