Next, we have the Svetlana EL34 Tubes, which are the best el34 tubes for those who want a pronounced midrange and a very smooth high end. It is also matched for plate current and transconductance. We really like this particular el34 tube because it sounds really warm and full. It is extremely well-made and really good for all types of genres, including rock, blues, and metal.
But it is mainly well known as a classic rock tune. We also like the fact that these tubes deliver incredible crunch, which gives you that classic ZZ Top sound. The Groove Tubes GT-EL34 is another industry classic that does a really good job of copying the original stock tube in most early Marshall and Hiwatt amps. We would describe this tube as having that classic British rock sound with a big, fat, and well-defined tone. So basically it is close to getting to vintage power tube heaven.
In terms of specs, the output is usually between 20 and 25 watts. And the dynamic range is pretty balanced. You get a nice mid-range punch, tight low end, and crisp high end. The high end tends to break up pretty smoothly yet it definitely gets quite crunchy when you push it very hard. Overall, we are very happy with this consistent product.

Lastly, we have the Tungsol Reissue EL34 Power Vacuum Tube, which is another Russian-made replica of the OG el34 tube used in the early Marshalls. So the best way we can describe it is that it has a higher impedance design with increased touch responsiveness. This tube also has a unique clipping characteristic with a hint of the 6L6 sound.
