Gillette Mach3 Men’s Disposable Razor
If you find yourself shaving a lot and are always on the go, you may want to buy a pack of the best disposable razor. There are many types of razors for both men and women including straight razors, safety razors, electric razors, cartridge razors, and disposable razors. Disposable razors are cheap, convenient to use, and great for traveling. A disposable razor usually has the blade and the handle as an entire unit and when the blade dulls, the entire unit is thrown away.
Disposable razors can have advanced features such as a lubricating strip or even multiple blades. While the best disposable razor will not give you as clean of a shave as a premium reusable razor, its many conveniences more than make up for it. If you are traveling and don’t feel like bringing your expensive and chunky electric razor, just simply pack in a small and lightweight disposable razor. If you don’t shave that often and just need to shave once in a while, it may be more affordable to just use a disposable razor. Also, if you don’t have that much hair to shave and don’t need crazy precision, a disposable razor will do. There is no need to get an expensive fancy razor when a disposable razor will get the job done. Of course for those who are very particular about the quality of their shave and want to minimize the potential for cuts, we recommend getting a premium razor. Gillette Mach3 Men’s Disposable Razor
If you want the best disposable razor with superior performance, get the Gillette Mach3 sensitive disposables. We would classify these razors more as hybrids, since they are not entirely designed for one time or prolonged use. The Mach3 sensitive has three progressively aligned blades that are designed to give you a seamless cut that minimizes skin irritation and accidental cuts.
These blades are coated with an unique Diamond Like Coating (DLC) technology that basically means they are sharp and cut close your skin. This also makes them durable and not easily prone to rust or rapid degradation. We find that with this coating, the razor blades last at least twice as long as a typical disposable. The Mach3 sensitive also has a great lubricating strip that allows you to shave without the need of a shaving gel. Of course, using a shaving gel is probably better but in those cases where you don’t really have it around, the lubrastrip works pretty well.
This lubricating strip also lasts for more shaves than the typical lubricating strip on a disposable. Finally, the Gillette Mach3 Disposable has an open architecture system so rinsing it is incredibly easy. All you need to do is to blast the razor blades at an angle with water and most of the hairs will slide right out. There is no more cleaning it off with your fingers, which definitely puts you at risk for some finger cuts. The handles have nice grip and this razor actually feels like a legit reusable razor.
BIC Soleil Color Collection Disposable Razor for Women
If you are looking for the best disposable razor for women, go with the BIC Soleil Color Collection. This razor has three blades to give you that perfect shave on your legs. The BIC Soleil is designed for women’s sensitive areas such as the underarm and legs. We like how there are three blades, which really gives you a smooth shave without irritation or cuts. We also like the fact that the razors come with lubricating strips with lanolin and vitamin E, which help enrich your skin with vital nutrients.
The lubricating strips works quite well in conjunction with the triple blades and can be used to provide a smooth surface without the need to apply shaving cream. One thing we didn’t really like about these razors is that the blade is quite prone to rusting and dulling, especially if it is always exposed to water and humidity. But hey, what do you really expect from disposable razors? If you find it collecting rust, just throw it away and use a new one. Luckily, there are 8 razors in this pack and the pack is already quite cheap to begin with. We think in terms of value and the fact that you get three blades, the BIC Soleil Color Collection is well worth it.
Schick ST2 Disposable Razor, Sensitive for Men
If you want the best disposable razor and you are on a budget, the Schick ST2 is your best option. These razors are really meant to be used a few times and thrown away. In terms of quality, these are truly disposables and not hybrids like the Gillette Mach3 disposable. The Schick ST2 comes with two blades that gives you a quick clean shave. Ok, fine, two blades are not as good as three, but in terms of getting cheap plastic blades without paying much, we think the ST2 is as good as it gets.
This razor more than gets the job done, but of course it won’t be as smooth as a three blade razor. We like that despite the razors being cheap and disposable after a few uses, it still comes with a lubricating strip loaded with Vitamin E. This means you don’t need to use shaving cream in case you forgot to bring some with you. And if you do want to use the Schick ST2 again or simply getting rid of excess hair on the blade, there is a button on the side you can press that will clean the blades for you to prevent them from clogging up.
While this razor does lack a bit in performance, it makes up for it in terms of value and convenience. Because they are so cheap per unit, you can literally use these once and throw it away without feeling guilty about it. And besides, for those who don’t need crazy precision with three blades, the ST2 is a perfect balance of performance and price.
Best Disposable Razor Buying Guide
Having a clean shaven face or body is important to your appearance. But if you are on the road, you can’t afford to always pack your favorite razor and you definitely can’t afford to lose it. With the best disposable razor, you can have something that gets the job done, is lightweight, portable, and can be thrown away when you are done.
If you are in a new place and know you will be leaving soon, it is much more convenient to buy a few disposable razors so you don’t even have to pack a razor with you. Also, if you don’t really have that much hair to shave or don’t shave that often, having a premium razor is just an overkill. You can get the same shave job with a disposable razor as long as you are careful to not cut yourself. But don’t worry, even if you do end up cutting yourself, just use an aftershave to disinfect the wound.
One of the biggest misconceptions is that disposable razors are lower quality and won’t get you a better shave. With the right technique, you can achieve a similar shave with both a disposable and reusable razor. Before choosing the best disposable razor for your needs, we strongly urge you to consider the following features.
Number of Blades: From our experience (and many will agree) more blades means a cleaner smoother shave that minimizes the risk of cutting yourself. Sure there are plenty of disposable razors that only have one blade, but these days more and more multi-blade disposables are popping up. They tend to run a bit more expensive but not significantly more to justify getting a single blade disposable.
Lubrication Strip: Ideally, you should be looking for disposable razors with a lubrication strip because with this, you can completely eliminate the need for shaving cream. Another good part about having a lubrication strip is that it prevents skin irritation, which some shaving cream tend to evoke. However, you should be careful here as well as there are some lubrication strips that could cause skin irritation.
This is more of a rare case and more often than not, there are some lubrications strips that have additives that help your skin such as essential vitamins and minerals. Usually, the lubrication strip lasts long enough to still be wet even after a few shaves. You should look into disposable razors with long last lubrication strips, because more often than not the strip will wear our before the razor blade does.
Pivoting Heads: The best disposable razor may even have a pivoting razor head, which is great at getting a nice and clean shave. By having a pivoting head, the disposable razor will conform to the shape of your face and skin more, which will give you a smoother shave and minimize the risk of cutting yourself. These tend to be more expensive, but we think they are well worth the upgrade.
Price: Disposable razors rarely come alone and are often sold as a pack. It is important to calculate the price per razor in a particular pack when evaluating what disposable razor to buy.
Durability: Even though disposable razors are designed to be thrown away, you should still consider the quality of the razors if you will be using it more than once. In general, we find that disposable razors can be used ten or more times before the razor blade dulls or start to collect rust. The lubricating strip usually lasts about 5 shaves.
