It can obviously be used for most masonry surfaces and presents a great waterproof and weatherproof thick coating that doesn’t crack or fade. However, it is a bit on the expensive side and may require a professional installation.

For those interested in using the best elastomeric paint, the Kool Seal Elastomeric Roof Coating is a great choice. This is basically elastomeric paint, but 10 times thicker meaning it is flexible and stretches. And the best part is, instead of being very prone to cracking like some standard elastomeric paints, the Kool Seal Elastomeric Coating is flexible enough to return back to its original shape.

Also, this stuff is ideal for outdoor situations and toughing out extreme weather. It is also very efficient in filling in small cracks and is pretty much waterproof as well as resisting fungus and mildew. All in all, for a long-lasting exterior waterproof finish, Kool Seal is your best friend. The only problem is it’s a bit pricy and requires some serious work to apply.

#2.Dap 12278 Elastomeric Patching Compound

The DAP Elastomeric Patching Compound is the best elastomeric paint for those looking for a high-performance elastomeric compound that gets rid of cracks with a permanent flexible fill. We really like the fact that this stuff does a great job of not cracking or crumbling over time and offers superior paintability and will not flash paint.

The DAP 12278 is great for repairing cracks and holes in stucco, wood, drywall, and brick. Also, it is more or less water resistant in many applications, although we don’t recommend using it below the waterline. Finally, just know that it can be used in both the interior and exterior depending on the circumstances. It closes gaps that are around a quarter-inch wide and half-inch deep.

#3.Ames Blue Max Liquid Rubber

For those looking for the best elastomeric paint for your basement, the Ames Blue Max Liquid Rubber is certainly a nice choice. This is a high-strength elastomeric liquid rubber/paint that is impervious to water. So we particularly like the Ames Blue for anybody for wants a pro fix for completely waterproofing in extremely wet situations for anything below grade such as basement walls.

Also, just keep in mind that it is quite uv sensitive, so if you want to expose it to some sunlight, you must top coat it first. All in all, this is pretty much bulletproof and if you end up applying it right, there should be absolutely no leakage or even extra moisture in your basement.

The Behr Elastomeric Paint is certainly great for those looking for a solid company in the household supplies industry. The Behr brand has been around for quite a while and definitely very reliable. This is an exterior coating that is very flexible, so this expands and contrasts until it perfectly fills in hairline cracks on various surfaces, including vertical ones.

We find this stuff extremely durable and quite dirt and mildew resistant. Also, it is quite waterproof and can withstand very strong winds and rain. All in all, these color dies are great in not bleeding and work very well with cotton fabric. Also, they are fade-resistant and wash resistant.

If you have any leaks in your roof and have tried everything possible, we highly recommend trying to use STA-Kool Elastomeric Roof Coating.

And even better, at retail price pound for pound, it is one of the better options out there in terms of getting the best value for your money. While we don’t think it is as good as Kool Seal, it is certainly easier to apply and tends to patch up small leaks on your roof and anywhere else quite well.
