#1.Espoma Tomato Tone Organic Fertilizer

When it comes to the best tomato fertilizer, we highly urge you to try out the Espoma tomato tone organic fertilizer. This fertilizer was made specifically for tomatoes and designed for organic gardening. What we like the most about this fertilizer and most others will agree is that it results in the plumpest juiciest tomatoes. There is really no comparison and no argument to be made here.

And we ran this fertilizer alongside others multiple times under various growing conditions to make sure we weren’t missing anything. Plain and simple, it works and beats out the others fair and square. The only issue we have with this fertilizer is that it is not the easiest to apply and it is a bit smelly and messy to clean up. Also, it requires a lot of work and maintenance to make your tomatoes grow.

#2.Jobe’s Tomato Fertilizer Spikes

Another great option when it comes to the best tomato fertilizer is Jobe’s Tomato Fertilizer Spikes. This is a 6-18-6 fertilizer that comes in a water-proof resealable package. We really like it because it is really easy to work with and doesn’t leave a mess everywhere. Also, there’s no run-off so you won’t lose fertilizer and you don’t have to measure anything out.

Jobe’s fertilizer spikes for tomatoes will last about 8 weeks before you have to refeed, which is great for the lazy person who just wants to set it and forget it. It will provide continuous nourishment for your tomatoes in the meantime. While it is not as effective as the Espoma fertilizer, it is certainly much easier to put on.

#3.Dr. Earth Organic Tomato Fertilizer

Although Dr. Earth Organic is a generic multi-purpose fertilizer, it certainly does not mean it is not good for tomatoes. In fact, we think this fertilizer helps tomatoes grow better than other plants. We have no idea what is in this fertilizer, but we know that it works very well. It is a 4-6-3 fertilizer that is organic and all-natural and a hand-crafted blend.

Additionally, it contains no GMOs and gives your tomatoes the optimal level of nutrients. It also feeds for several months so you don’t have to always monitor it. We put it somewhere in between the Jobe’s Spikes and Espoma fertilizers. It is both effective and convenient to use but doesn’t quite excel in either one of them individually.

#4.Miracle-Gro Shake ‘N Feed Tomato Fertilizer

The Miracle-Gro Shake ‘N Feed Tomato Fertilizer is a nice little fertilizer that lets you basically get away with as little work as possible. We really like the fact that it contains natural ingredients such as kelp, feather meal, bone meal, and earthworm castings that really help feed microbes in the soil.

It is also loaded with calcium, which does a good job of forming stronger cell walls and longer-lasting tomatoes. It also helps prevents disorders and widespread diseases. Perhaps our feature is that it has an incredibly long feed time of up to 3 months. It continuously feeds above the ground and below the soil, making it a set-it-and-forget-it kind of fertilizer.

#5. Happy Frog Tomato Fertilizer

Lastly, we have the Happy Frog Tomato Fertilizer, which is a great 7-4-5 fertilizer that has a nice pH-balanced formula with active soil microbes. It is also granulated and easy to use and apply. We think its standout feature is that it contains humic acid, which definitely helps out with seed germination.

This also helps with the increased intake of vital micronutrients to help your tomatoes grow. While Happy Frog is a lesser-known name in the fertilizer game, you certainly shouldn’t ignore it. We think it may give your tomatoes a breath of fresh air and increase your yield in certain situations where you have different growing conditions. So it is worth it to have a bag of this around.
