#1.Marks Hardware 91A-RH Mortise Lock

For those who are interested in the best mortise locks, we highly recommend that you try out the Marks Hardware 91A-RH Mortise Lock. It is one of the better bangs for the buck out there in our opinion. This Mortise type lock comes with a 2.5 inch backset, rocker switch which locks and unlocks the outside knob, and a solid brass one inch throw deadbolt.

This particular model is the right handed version although you can certainly get the left handed version as well. The instructions are pretty clear and it is pretty easy to install. For the most part, we think the lock performs way better than the cost of purchase. We would definitely consider it a heavy duty lock and is quite cheap for its quality.

#2.Wright Products VMT115SN Mortise Lock

Next up, we have the Wright Products Mortise Lock, which is the best mortise lock for those who want something affordable and rather stylish. It features doors that are 1-1/8 to 2 inches thick and reversible levers for left and right hinged doors. Also, it includes a built in keyed deadbolt.

Overall, it also has a nice good handle and a pretty good fit that will work on most door types and sizes. It is not the best in terms of quality, but for most people it will do. We think that the Wright Products VMT115SN is fit more for those who prefer a stylish looking handle and lock set. While it does offer you a good amount of protection, there are others that are better.

#3.Pineworld Biometric Fingerprint Mortise Locks

Another really nice option when it comes to the best mortise locks is the Pineworld Biometric Fingerprint Mortise Locks. This is a great option for those who prefer a keyless entry. There are five different ways to unlock this mortise lock using fingerprint, password, smart app, mechanical key or RFID card. It certainly makes it quite convenient to unlock.

Also, it is nice to know that it is made of Zinc Alloy stainless steel that is nice, durable, and secure. It has weather sealed components that do a great job of preventing dust and dirt from entering. Yeah sure, it is definitely going to be a little pricey but it is just so convenient to use and quite strong as well that the price is justified in our opinion.

#4.Prime-Line Mortise Locks

The Prime-Line Mortise Locks is a really nice and cheap mortise lock that has a classic bronze finish and fits 1-3/8 in.-1-3/4 in. interior doors. There is nothing really fancy about this mortise lock except that it works as advertised and is very affordable. Also, it is incredibly easy to install and anyone can do it.

Yeah sure, you will definitely get a lot of people hating on this mortise lock and saying that it is not good, but keep in mind how much you are paying for it. If you keep your expectations low and are just looking for a lock that works and is stable and won’t rust over time, this is the way to go.

#5.Maxtech Double Cylinder Mortise Lockset

Lastly, we have the Maxtech Double Cylinder Mortise Lockset, which is a fairly well made mortise lockset that has double solid brass cylinders. There is nothing much to say about this mortise lockset other than to say that you are getting a fairly good price for its quality. After all, it is pretty much a standard lockset.

Overall, the lock is pretty easy to install as well but not as easy as the Prime-Line Mortise lock mentioned above. And it fits most doors unless you have a special type door. Furthermore, we find this lock to be pretty great quality and it just looks pretty good on most doors.
