When it comes to the best bottom bracket, we have to give it up for the Shimano BB-UN26. It features a square taper interface, with sealed no-service bearings and a high-quality spindle. This pretty much means that the Shimano is maintenance-free for years to come. So overall, we would say that these are a great bang for the buck and the cheaper alternative to the UNBB55.
And with the proper tools, you can easily install this yourself as long as you prepare ahead of time and sort of know what you are doing. In terms of performance, we say the action of this bottom bracket is smooth. Our biggest complaint and a rightful one is that the adjustable cup is plastic, and we definitely would have preferred a metal cup.

Next, we have the Truvatic SRAM GXP, which is the best bottom bracket if you want something incredibly lightweight and durable. This bottom bracket is designed to be used with SRAM and TruVativ GXP cranksets. We really like how the Truvativ SRAM allows for pretty good performance and whether or not there are thread irregularities in the frame.
Also, one of the selling points is that the bearing loading and power transfer are optimized while minimizing wear when the radial loads are transferred to the drive-side bearing. And finally, you have a pretty maintenance-free experience as the sealed bearings keep dirt and water out as much as possible.

If you want the best bottom bracket, we think the Origin8 Torqlite is one of the better options out there. We feel confident that it will be much lighter and will spin more smoothly than your stock bottom brackets. As for some specs, it is made of forged alloy body and cups, with a CNC hollow chromoly spindle, and sealed cartridge bearings. Also, we think it just has a very nice finish.
Overall, we think that this is a very well-made bottom bracket and is well-machined. The durability is pretty darn good as well compared to some of the other brands that we have tried. And finally, we just have to say that this is a great product at a great price. It is a very good bang for the buck and think it is a solid choice for those on a budget.

Another great option when it comes to bottom brackets is the Sunlite Square Bottom Bracket. This one has a steel body, sealed bearings, and a chromoly spindle. Overall, we would say that this is a very good performer and sum it up as an above-average short-spindle bottom bracket that comes in at a very affordable price point.
In terms of durability and longevity, we really like it because it holds up well and runs for much longer than stock bottom brackets. We can see this lasting for several thousands of miles. All in all, we think this sealed cartridge bottom bracket rotates very smoothly and the entire unit is made of metal with no plastic parts.

#5.Shimano XTR SM-BB93 English Bottom Bracket
Last but not least, we have the Shimano XTR SM-BB93 which is an English thread bottom bracket with better sealing performance and durable enough for mountain bike usage. We really like it (and many users also comment on this) for the fact that it is incredibly lightweight, which goes to offset the weight disadvantage of the drivetrain.
