Our only complaint is that it is not really rated for extremely tough conditions and windy conditions. For that, we prefer a tougher line but the price to performance is pretty great.

If you are looking for the best saltwater fly line and are on a budget, the Maxcatch Avid Fly LIne is the right one for you. It has a great high-tech coating, which gives you nice durability and floatation. We also like the very noticeable two-tone color, which allows you to easily find the back of the head when casting. Casting is pretty easy and it has a nice smooth coating with great taper.
Also, it has a long head design, which is pretty good for line management. And now for the bad stuff: this is definitely a cheaper line and does not hold up with those $100 fly lines. So get your expectations down. Yeah, it will break down and will get tangled at times, but this will happen to any line.

The saltwater intermediate is pretty amazing and sinks at 1.25–1.75 iPs.The triangle taper is pretty cool too. It provides a continuous forward taper in the head of the line for the first 27 to 40 feet, providing an efficient transfer of casting energy.
Due to its design, because the weight is away from the fly it gives you a very delicate presentation. Also, it is the finest roll casting line for up to 60 feet casts. All in all, if you are very particular about your fly line and want a saltwater intermediate, this one by Royal Wulff is a no-brainer.
