Additionally, we should also mention that it is pretty water resistant, flexible as well as UV resistant, and archival safe. It is also pretty non-toxic so safe to use around kids. Our favorite part is that it has this really smooth and non-sticky consistency, which really makes it quite different from your generic run-of-the-mill glue out there.

Next up, we have the Elmer’s Extra Strength Glue Sticks, which is the best glue for collage if you are looking for something simple to use. Let’s get real, who hasn’t heard of Elmer’s or hasn’t used their glue products in their life? We like these glue sticks because they are extra strength, which is a clear improvement over original glue sticks.

We prefer that matte gel although there are certainly many other finishes and textures to choose from. The best way to describe this gel is that it is translucent when wet and transparent when dry.
Most people don’t think of it this way, but it actually makes an excellent archival adhesive for collages. Also, it contains acrylic resins, which help improve adhesion and durability. Furthermore, we just want to point out that the holding power on this glue is quite strong so it is meant for making collages with heavier objects.

Finally, we have the AmazonBasics Glue For Collage, which really needs no huge explanation. It simply gets the job done and you know what you are getting. We find these glue sticks quite similar to the Elmer Glue Sticks mentioned above, except we think that Elmer’s has better hold power and overall durability.
The AmazonBasics are not bad, but it is clear that Amazon just got into this game and hasn’t put enough money into research and development to make the best glue stick. However, most people don’t care and just need something that is cheap and works for the most part. It will make nice collages with paper and will do so quite well.
