#1.Fender Standard Guitar Fret Wire
When it comes to the best fret wire, we have to give it to the Fender Standard Guitar Fret Wire. This is a genuine Fender standard fret wire that is pre-cut to 24 pieces. Although it is a bit more expensive than just buying a roll of the fret wire and cutting it yourself, at least with the Fenders, you get consistent radius and length.
And you can definitely use these on non-fender guitars no problem so don’t think that you are limited to only using Fenders. The only thing is that it has the Fender logo on it. In terms of quality, we think it is pretty much at the top of its game. Don’t worry about the negative reviews on this – we think they were paid to give it a bad review.

#2.C.B. Gitty Standard Medium Fret Wire
Next up, we have the C.B. Gitty Standard Medium Fret Wire, which is the best fret wire for those who want a really long-standing and reliable brand in the industry. C.B. Gitty is a long-standing manufacturer of fret wires and is pretty dominant in this industry. If you want a quality fret wire, you go to them. We put them right up there next to Fender on quality.
This is an 18% nickel silver fret wire that is six feet in length. It is incredibly durable and is one of the more popular sizes for acoustic guitars. Overall, we think that this is a great length of cut to work with. It is straight and solid and the fret goes on very smoothly and polishes very easily.

#3.Musiclily Stainless Steel Fret Wire
Another great option when it comes to the best fret wire is the Musiclily Stainless Steel Fret Wire. It fits basically all types of guitars including electric and acoustic. In general, we think that these are very nice quality and cut very nicely. You should definitely use a grindstone wheel to grind the length to fit. Also, they are all straight with a slight curve.
Unfortunately, they are steel instead of nickel so they are a bit hard to work with. Overall the quality is very good and just a tad behind the previous two recommended products. But the difference is so small that it is barely noticeable. Anyways, these fret wires are a solid choice and you can’t go wrong here.

#4. Acoustic Guitar Fret Wire Set
The Acoustic Guitar Fret Wire Set is a very durable copper fret wire that is one of the more popular sizes for acoustic guitars. They range in size from 43.8mm to 57mm. We really like the fact that they come in multiple lengths and are slightly pre-curved to fit the neck radius well. We think that they fit the grooves in the frets really well and are not as big as jumbo frets.
The very fact that it is already cut up for you and everything makes the process so much easier and seamless. You do have to do a little filing work though but it’s not too annoying. Sure, these fret wires don’t really have a name, reputation, or brand name, but will that deter you from buying it or evaluating it as a good product? We would like to think no.

#5.Jim Dunlop Accu-Fret Fretwire Jumbo
Lastly, we have the Jim Dunlop Accu-Fret Fretwire Jumbo, which is the best fret wire for those who want a high-quality 18% nickel silver fret that is already pre-cut. This fret is pretty durable, like the others that we recommended above. It really delivers a warm and clear tone and is definitely one of the preferred brands out there by professional musicians.
Needless to say, the quality is amazing and we put it right up there with Fender. Some people may even say that it is better. Either way, you can’t do wrong on durability here. If you want an easy seamless installation and fret wire that will last longer than other brands, Jim Dunlop is the way to go.
