We really like this brand because it comes in a large variety of sizes and styles to pick from. You can get a body-specific brush, or a face brush, and pick the strength of the bristles.
For general-purpose brushing, we prefer the combo body brush which combines stiff and hard bristles so you can get the best of both worlds. These bristles are also very durable and don’t fall out. Next up, we have the Decker 35 Synthetic Grooming Brush, which is some of the best horse brushes in this industry if you want stiff synthetic bristles. We like the Decker 35 because it is great for grooming thick winter coats and the fibers of this brush really get down between the hairs. The brush has a two-inch trim and holds water well.
We also think this brush works great for taking off dead skin from your horse and the bristles aren’t too stiff to the point where it hurts or annoys the horse. All in all, this is a no-frills no thrills like grooming horse brush and the handle is wooden, so don’t expect it to be all “ergonomic.”

The bristles are quite hard but not so hard to the point where it hurts your horse when grooming. It allows you to get a nice hard brushing motion and really pick up loose hairs, dirt, and dead skin.
These bristles also do a pretty good job of staying on and definitely don’t shed if you are using too much force. They are long lasting and you won’t be replacing this brush anytime soon. While it is just a brush and any brush will do, this brush is specifically made for horses to tackle their tougher skin and longer hairs.

The Tough 1 Great Grips Flex Finishing Brush is certainly a nice horse grooming brush that you can also use for general-purpose cleaning or grooming on other pets. We really like the flexible form and think that it is quite the standout feature. It actually lets you get more work done at a faster rate as it actually covers more surface area than most other brushes.
What we mean here is that this brush can bend, so when you do groom your hair, you are able to get at the curves and corners much easier. Believe it or not, this makes a huge difference in speed. Also, it comes in a large variety of different colors which is always nice to know. While we like the flexibility, the bristle are not as hard as we would like them to be.

#5.Oster ECS Stiff Grooming Brush
Lastly, we have Oster ECS Stiff Grooming Brush, which is a pretty nice horse grooming brush that has a nice contoured design that actually gives you a very nice grip. We actually find the handle to be the most comfortable to hold for extended periods of time as the rubber is just really nice and squishy. It is almost comparable to the texture of memory foam.
Additionally, we like the fact that the bristles are densely packed and pretty much effortlessly remove dirt and loose hairs. You will have to scrub but just not as hard as other brushes. Although in the end, a brush is just a brush, you might as well buy one that is specifically made for horses, because it doesn’t cost much and it’ll save you a lot of extra work.
