The food also does a pretty good job of sinking.

This in turn will lead to less ammonia and therefore you get much cleaner and more clear water.
The company reports that the API Fish Food Pellets can lead to up to 30% less ammonia and fish waste. While we can’t really run rigorous tests to justify this claim, what we can say is it works. On our before and after test with all else being equal, we found the water to be noticeably cleaner. The only issue is that fish of all types tend to nibble on it so you may have to buy more.

#5.Wardley Pond Fish Food
Lastly, we highly recommend the Wardley Pond Fish Food, which is actually designed for koi and goldfish, but for some reason, we found that the catfish just love this brand. If your catfish isn’t eating properly and not accepting the catfish food you normally give them, perhaps it is time to give this brand a try. It has a nice protein-to-fat ratio and is loaded with vitamin C.
While we can’t say for sure that it fits the catfish’s recommended diet, what we can say is that based on our results, we find that most catfish species tend to eat it over other brands. So all in all, we would just keep some of this as a backup, in case your catfish becomes bored of the catfish food you give it every day. Add it in as a nice little treat.
