#1.Oxbow Poof! Chinchilla Dust

When it comes to the best chinchilla dust, we highly recommend the Oxbow Poof! Chinchilla Dust. This is 100% Blue Cloud Dust with no chemical additives, artificial ingredients, or preservatives. We like the fact that the Oxbow Poof! also encourages natural grooming behaviors as well as increasing mental and physical well-being in your chinchilla.

At least this is what the company says. Whether or not it is true is up to your interpretation. What we did notice though however is that chinchillas love this stuff and don’t seem to be allergic to it at all. And in general, this stuff lasts for quite a while longer than most other brands out there. For one chinchilla one jar of dust will last about 4 months.

#2.Lixit Chinchilla Blue Cloud Dust

Next, we have the Lixit Chinchilla Blue Cloud Dust, which is the best chinchilla dust if you want to keep your chinchilla’s fur soft, beautiful, and mat-free. It is the preferred dust for many chinchilla owners. This is 100% all-natural dust that comes from the Blue Beauty mines in southern California and is a very fine aluminum silicate powder that contains no glass, limestone, or sand.

We also like the fact that you can easily just shake it out of your chinchilla without having powder or dust particles stuck on your pet. And cleaning it all up is a breeze that never gets messy. Finally, we like the fact that this dust has a bit of sparkle to it so it gives your chinchilla a bit of sparkle and glows afterward, which in our opinion looks pretty epic.

#3.Sun Seed Natural Dust Bath

Another great option when it comes to the best chinchilla dust is the Sun Seed Natural Dust Bath. This is blue cloud dust coming from the clue cloud mine in California and is not chemically enhanced. This dust does a great job of removing the excess moisture and oil from the fur of your chinchilla and even ends up making it smell nice. So it is basically non-intrusive shampoo.

We were a bit hesitant at first because the dust didn’t look like it came from a reputable brand and the marketing is terrible. But after trying it out, actually, it’s not too bad! Unfortunately, there is no blue sparkle effect at the end, but the good thing is chinchillas love it and start running around every time we bring out the dust.

#4. Tiny Friends Farm Chinchilla Bathing Sand

The Tiny Friends Farm Chinchilla Bathing Sand is a great choice if you want to try an alternative to chinchilla dist but still get the same desired effect. This is actually bathing sand that is dust free. The sand is designed in a way that will actually remove excess moisture and oils from the chinchillas and also help out a bit with neutralizing odors, given that they roll around in it enough times.

Since water in the fur could cause hypothermia and be fatal, play it safe and use bathing sand instead. The only real big difference that we see compared to bathing dust is that this product doesn’t give you shine. If you are ok with that and prefer to try out some other chinchilla bathing products and are tired of bathing dust, we say you should definitely give bathing sand a real shot.

#5.You & Me Chinchilla Dust

Lastly, there’s the You & Me Chinchilla Dust, which is a high-quality dusting powder that can be recycled as a soil additive for home gardening. It is nice to know that it is silica and limestone free. We are actually a bit confused about what is in this product, but all we can say is that it definitely works very well at cleaning out your chinchilla’s fur.

The particles are ideally sized to penetrate the fur and to clean it thoroughly without getting stuck in them. This means that getting this dust out is a breeze and you just have to give your chinchilla a good shake. All in all, this is definitely a trust that you can trust and one that your chinchillas will love. Our only complaint is that you have to buy more.
